🏁 How to Pick the Right AI Agent: ChatGPT Dots, Claude Duet, Grok Bot, and Meta Muse Compared
New AI features arrive faster than anyone can follow, and a new “always-on” agent now seems to launch every few weeks. ChatGPT Dots, Claude Duet, Grok Bot, and Meta Muse all appeared between August and October.
Each one works on its own cloud computer, so it keeps going after you close the app. They sound almost the same, yet they differ in price, speed, and how often they stop to ask before acting.
This guide gives you the pros, the cons, and what early users say about each, so you can see which one suits your work and what you already pay for before you spend another hour on launch announcements.
✿ ChatGPT Dots
Pros:
- Wrote the most accurate Slack reply in a nine-task test by creator Claire Vo, and its bug fix came closest to the real one. You can open a dot’s computer at any time to check its work.
- Dots now choose between GPT-6 Astra and the faster GPT-6.1 Terra for each task, added November 3. US Pro users can also text their dot through iMessage or RCS in beta, which started October 28.
- Reaches more than 4,000 apps through plugins, and you can talk to it through ChatGPT, Slack, or Microsoft Teams.
Cons:
- Its creative work looked rough in the test, including a newspaper that seemed unfinished and a launch video that played like a slideshow.
- Needs a Pro 100 plan or higher or Business Premium, and Pro plans don’t include it in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland. New: Enterprise, Edu, and Healthcare workspaces got dots on November 4, free to preview until November 18, then billed.
- OpenAI says the rules you set are instructions a dot tries to follow, and that it can make mistakes.
User feedback:
- One daily user, a month in, says his dot ran schedules that never reached its task queue and emailed him a priority list even though he told it to ask first.
- A hands-on reviewer found Amazon blocked his dot’s cloud browser, so no purchase went through. Its dashboard came out rough, but it sent an unprompted alert about a failed payment.

✳ Claude Duet
Pros:
- Sends a short morning brief, checks your apps every few hours, and asks for approval before it sends, pays, signs, or deletes anything. Anthropic says it never directly sees your passwords or sign-in tokens.
- Made the best product launch video in the test, and found and fixed a second bug nobody had spotted.
- Invitations started reaching US Max subscribers first on October 28, with Pro next. Newly admitted users get one full usage reset, valid until November 30.
Cons:
- Finished last and slowest in the test, asking for permission four times where the others asked once.
- Available only through a US waitlist for Pro and Max subscribers, with Team and Enterprise not yet included.
- You can’t yet watch or take over its browser, and its background checks count toward your normal Claude usage.
User feedback:
- A hands-on tester said his first couple of days used up all his session limits, and the app didn’t make clear which limits applied. Overnight, it matched Google security alerts to the apps he had just connected and summarized them unprompted.
- Another creator found it sent only a few messages over two days and had gone quiet by the second night, while one message said YouTube had blocked it from reading his view counts.
- A reviewer who spent two weeks with it called it the first personal agent he would call a pro tool, while also listing its weak spots.

𝕏 Grok Bot
Pros:
- Finished all nine tasks in the test and won overall, taking Figma thumbnails, an inbox to-do list, and shoe shopping by price comparison.
- Can now place phone calls for you, announced November 4. It also gained shopping cards, order tracking, and payments from its Vault on November 2.
- Works across apps, tools, and websites, including ones with no clean connection to plug into.
Cons:
- Struggled with code, and to fix a bug, it loosened the check that had caught the bug.
- Starts at the $30 Premium tier of The X Subscription, since it has no standalone price.
- Every bot on your account shares one cloud computer, including its files and browser sessions.
User feedback:
- Even after the limits were reverted, forum users reported more jumps on November 3 and 4, including a $200 Ultra subscriber whose weekly usage went from 7% to 100% in about two hours.
- One user running 13 bots said a full week of Ultra usage lasted about 8 hours.
- A Cursor staff member said a jump like that shouldn’t happen, and some users saw their meters return to earlier readings on November 2.

∞ Meta Muse
Pros:
- The fastest in the test, finishing first on four of nine tasks, including the short-form clip, a family newspaper, and a homework question. It is free with a usage limit, with paid plans at $20 and $100 a month.
- Muse Voice lets you phone call and video chat with Muse as a customizable animated avatar. It became available to everyone in the US on November 5, on mobile, web, and Mac.
- Facebook, Instagram, and Threads connect automatically, so there is almost nothing to set up.
Cons:
- The test had no Slack or GitHub connected, so it skipped those jobs, and reviewers found it weakest at building documents and returning files.
- Available only in the US, Canada, Japan, and Singapore, and the new voice and video feature is US-only for now.
- Meta’s own safety write-up says Muse isn’t immune to attack.
User feedback:
- A tester who ran it on a real Facebook Page and Group in October would use it again for supervised marketing, but reviews every post because a typo reached a live one.
- A tech analyst said he wouldn’t use it to book hotels, order delivery, or shop, because the regular apps feel smoother, though he sees real switching costs once all your accounts are connected.
- A creator running all four side by side said Muse and dots both keep watching his inbox and suggesting things.

The takeaway:
No agent won every job, and that is the useful part. The best choice depends less on a leaderboard than on what you already pay for and the work you plan to hand over, so start with the one that comes with a plan you already have.
Give it one contained, repeatable task for a week, and keep a human check on anything it sends or spends.
