📊 ChatGPT for PowerPoint Creates and Edits Slides From Prompts
OpenAI launched ChatGPT for PowerPoint in beta globally, letting users create slides, update decks, and turn source material into presentations using plain language inside PowerPoint.
What's new:
- Available now in beta globally for Business, Enterprise, Edu, Teachers, K-12, Free, Go, Pro, and users
- Works inside PowerPoint, reads deck structure, preserves editable slide content
- Install from Home → Add-ins, search for ChatGPT, open from the ribbon, and sign in with your OpenAI account
What it can do:
- Create slides from notes, docs, spreadsheets, prompts, or existing decks
- Rewrite content, tighten hierarchy, add a new section, polish the draft while keeping output editable in PowerPoint
- Ask what the presentation says, where the narrative is weak, what's missing, and what the executive audience might ask
- Summarize, restructure, turn dense slides into clearer takeaways
- Review changes, check important claims and numbers before sharing
Example prompts:
- "Turn these notes and KPIs into a 10-slide board update with an executive summary, risks slide, and clear next steps."
- "Review this QBR deck and make it specific to Acme using the attached usage data and account notes."
- "Tighten slides 5–8 for an executive audience. Reduce text, clarify the takeaways, and keep the deck editable."
- "Add a clean chart slide using this table and write the takeaway as the title."
- "Summarize the story of this deck and tell me where the narrative feels weakest."
- "Rewrite the slide titles so they read like conclusions, not labels."
- "Turn this screenshot into an editable PowerPoint slide I can update."
Privacy:
- Data shared with ChatGPT isn't used to improve models for Business, Enterprise, Edu, and Teachers plans by default
- Workspace administrators can manage access based on plan, workspace settings, and admin controls
Why it matters:
OpenAI is putting ChatGPT where the actual work happens - inside PowerPoint - instead of making people jump between a chat window and their slides.
The plain language editing shifts PowerPoint from a manual formatting tool to a conversation-driven editor, directly competing with Google's Gemini in Slides and positioning ChatGPT as the AI layer inside Microsoft Office despite Microsoft's own Copilot already being there.

🎙️ Spotify's New Studio App Competes With Google's NotebookLM
Spotify released Studio by Spotify Labs, a desktop app that creates AI-generated podcasts based on your emails, calendar, documents, and notes, competing with Google's NotebookLM.
What's new:
- Rolling out in research preview to select users 18+ in over 20 markets
- Desktop app creates podcasts by exploring topics or generating daily briefs
- The agent browses the web and fetches personal information to create personalized podcasts
- All AI-generated podcasts were saved in the Spotify library for personal consumption, synced across devices, and were not available publicly
- Competes with Google's NotebookLM, which popularized podcast generation from source material
- Google also released a separate feature to create a daily podcast based on the Discover feed
- Format adopted by Adobe, ElevenLabs, and apps like Hero and Huxe
- Follows the recent command-line tool for Claude Code or Codex users to create personal podcasts
- Studio app brings the same capability to non-coders
What it can do:
- Create a daily briefing or podcast based on the email and schedule
- Handle multistep requests like "Create a daily audio brief for my road trip through Italy. Walk me through my day using my calendar and bookings. Recommend a memorable dinner spot near where I'll be. And end with a podcast recommendation I'd love for the drive."
- Explore topics by creating podcasts about them with personal context
Why it matters:
Spotify is expanding beyond music streaming into personal AI assistant territory by turning your daily schedule and emails into background listening content, positioning podcasts as the audio format for consuming information instead of reading.
The desktop app launch hints at bigger ambitions - Spotify could add system audio capture to become a meeting note-taker like Granola or Rewind, using podcast generation as the entry point to capture everything happening on your computer and turn it into audio you can listen to later.

🎨 Figma Launches AI Agent That Generates and Edits Designs
Figma released an AI agent that works inside its collaborative canvas, letting users generate designs, edit existing ones, and automate tasks like creating design iterations using natural language prompts.
What's new:
- Launching first in Figma Design, coming to other Figma products later
- Type what you want in plain language, and the AI agent does it
- Run multiple AI agents at the same time to work on different tasks
- AI trained specifically for design, understands design elements
- Partnerships with Anthropic and OpenAI let users run Claude Code and Codex alongside Figma
- Q1 2026 revenue $333.4 million, up 46% from last year
- Competing with Canva, Adobe, Flora, Krea, Dessn
What it can do:
- Generate new designs from text
- Edit designs you already have
- Create multiple versions of the same design automatically
- Test ideas and refine concepts together on a shared canvas
Why it matters:
Figma is making a bet that designers will stop clicking and dragging pixels themselves and instead manage AI agents that do the actual design work.
This puts Figma ahead of Adobe and Canva in the shift from "AI helps you design" to "AI designs while you direct," though it also raises the uncomfortable question of whether companies will need fewer designers if one person can now manage multiple AI agents doing the work that used to require a full team.
