🎬 Midjourney Launches AI Video Generator That Animates Images

Midjourney has released its first AI video generation model, V1, allowing users to transform static images into animated five-second clips. The launch puts the company in direct competition with OpenAI's Sora and Google's Veo while facing a copyright lawsuit from Disney and Universal.

What's new:

• V1 image-to-video model launches for all 20 million users
• Creates four five-second video clips from any uploaded image
• Videos can be extended up to 21 seconds total
• Available through Discord and web, starting at $10/month
• Manual and automatic animation settings
• Text prompts can guide specific animations

Google has started testing Search Live, a voice-powered feature that lets users have real-time conversations with Google Search instead of typing queries. The feature is rolling out to US users in the Google app as part of the company's AI Mode experiment.

• Four voice options: Cosmo, Neso, Terra, and Cassini

YouTube will add Google's Veo 3 AI video generation tool to YouTube Shorts this summer, allowing creators to generate complete video clips with synchronized audio from simple text prompts. The integration was announced by YouTube CEO Neal Mohan at the Cannes Lions festival.

• Veo 3 integration coming to YouTube Shorts this summer
• Creates full video clips with visuals and synchronized sound
• Generates content from simple text prompts
• Builds on the existing Dream Screen background tool
• Shorts are currently averaging 200 billion daily views
